Cattle Market Makers Project
Developing a home for our amazing community of artists and craftspeople in the heart of Liskeard
Welcome to the Liskeard’s Cattle Market Makers Project – or the Market Makers for short!
Launched at the end of 2021, we are part of the renewal of the Old Cattle Market at the heart of Liskeard town centre. This is a major initiative which will involve the creation of new arts, crafts and business facilities on this historic site. It is here that we are in the process of constructing a special new facility for local artists and craftspeople, a ‘makerspace’ for Liskeard’s makers.
Our town has a huge amount of talent in the arts and crafts, and we are here to support, develop, showcase and share that talent.
We are offering Liskeard’s artists and craftspeople advice and support in developing and growing the commercial potential of your creative work. and enhancing opportunities for networking and collaboration in the fields of arts and crafts. We also organize cultural events and exhibitions and support our makers in finding routes to market for your work.
During 2022, we are also offering free training in arts and crafts to local people to support your personal wellbeing and development, and to help grow your potential to find good jobs or to earn extra income through your own creative work. Participation in our training courses costs nothing and all necessary materials will be provided for free. We are running a range of courses during 2022, including fabric work, wood carving, print work and watercolors. You don’t need to have any experience in arts and crafts to join us.
We are here to support and serve the development of the community of Liskeard’s artists and craftspeople, from the most experienced talents to people brand new to arts and crafts. We welcome all interest and will do our very best to help and support you. For more information on any of these opportunities, please contact email@example.com.
The Cattle Market Makers Project is managed by Liskeard Town Council, with funding and support from the European Social Fund, the European Regional Development Fund, Community Led Local Development, the Cornwall Development Company and Cornwall Council.
