ADVICE AND GUIDANCE

LISKEARD ACTION ON THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

Social Emergency Fund

One of the ways that the Town Council has responded to the Coronavirus and issues facing vulnerable people within Liskeard, is to establish this Social Emergency Fund. This is intended to support the activities of those community groups and organizations bringing help and support to those facing isolation and need.  The Application Form and how to apply can be found on our Grants page here.

The meeting of Liskeard Town Council took place on Tuesday 24th March. The agenda focused on what the Town Council will do in this health crisis and how it will be able to work with others to help vulnerable individuals and families.  In the present difficult circumstances, the meeting was by video conference, but we will still find a less formal way to agree our approach to providing local support to the community.  You can view the agenda for the meeting on 24th March here and the supporting documents here.

The Town Council has held a meeting bringing together all the organisations we know of that can help, and discussed how we can work together to meet needs.  The notes of this meeting can also be viewed on the 24th March Town Council page.

At the present time, the Town Council is putting in place arrangements to work with Cornwall Council’s local Community Link Officer (CLO) and teams across the authority.  We work closely with all three Cornwall Councillors for Liskeard – Nick Craker, Sally Hawken and Jane Pascoe and will continue to do so.
